I was pretty jobless one morning a few days back and happened to look out of the window. The street was bustling with kids moving towards a school located a few feet away. Neatly dressed with bags on their backs, lunch bags in hands, some kids walked briskly with confidence.. Some tumbled hesitantly and some ran enthusiastically...
A boy called aloud for a motorist (possibly his dad) who stopped after which the kid ran towards him. He murmured something into his ear panting and the motorist rode away after placing a coin on the boy's palm. The boy happily ran towards a small shop nearby, took a candy and joyously hurried towards school... The others who walked lazily ran after hearing the bell go off... All of us may have experienced these little things during school days, the Golden Days..
Then, a penny would buy us all the happiness, now, even millions seem less. Then, mistakes could be erased and rectified, now, people do not even admit to have committed a mistake and blame everyone else for the loss. Then, fights happened and got over quickly, now, fights start but don't seem to end. Then, we shared classes, benches and lunch boxes with everyone, now, we seem to have been divided by every possible difference (caste, religion, nationality). Then, all of us were students, friends, now, people hardly treat other people as humans...
If given a chance, all of us would trade anything to go back and live the innocent and worry - free school life but since that can't literally happen, lets make our memories more cherish able...
Lets relieve our kids from the pressure of performing well, too much homework and projects. Let us help them inculcate the habit of helping. Lets get them interested in at least one sport. Let us teach them the value of giving and earning respect. Lets lead them to a life that involves healthy eating and no cheating. Let their curiosity be their teacher. Let them enjoy their childhood to the fullest and let us treasure ours seeing them...
Someone has wisely said "Children are great imitators. So give them something great to imitate."
Cheers!!
God Bless!!

New Year
All of us await the new year with lot of expectations.. It was a special case in 2012..
However, 2013 started with a couple of bad newses rather than good.
Nonetheless, the whole year has to go by and we can still wish for better things to come our way... There are a few particulars to my list though.
At the onset, I wish there are no more rumors about the world ending. More than anything else, it will only cause us to commit more mistakes thinking the world is going to end.
The Delhi tragedy has brought to light not only the vulnerability of people but also exposed the insensate and lethargic behavior of the police (our so called protectors) and the bureaucrats (our so called leaders). I only hope we have a strict law in place very soon which intends to protecting lives and preventing crimes.
We've all experienced great zeal while watching India play against any other cricket team. Many of us don't seem interested in other sports as a result of lack of knowledge. I wish we give a little more attention and respect to our national game. In fact I wish we hear more about basketball, soccer and hockey from kids of our generation. We may get some insight to other games from them at least..
All of us wish for our ministers to actually work for us. I wish there are more like Mr. Modi whose changed the destiny of Gujarat. If not new, at least the existing ones can take lessons from him which could make our country a better place..
I wish we all become spiritual. Not that we visit religious places with offerings that our Gods don't even need, but lets just not go by what a few men say and care about living humans. Lets do good deeds, feed the hungry, give clothes to the needy and help the ones in trouble. I don't know if that would unite us with God but it'll sure take us closer to the humanity that seems long forgotten.
I wish we become more responsible in handling our resources, care more for our environment and people around us and avoid damage to our own selves. In the end, I wish we all observe kids more closely and take their attributes of being naive, pure hearted, free of hatred, greed and envy, learn to forgive quickly and forget easily.
Wish for more laughs and smiles than tears and fears in this year and the coming ones...
Wishing all readers a very happy and prosperous new year!!
Cheers!!
